CSU–Pueblo Evening of Women’s Poetry features poets of past

The annual Evening of Women's Poetry will feature award winning artists from the Southern Colorado Women’s Poetry contest from 2004-2008 as well as highlight winners of the 2009 contest. The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of this year's Southern Colorado Women's Poetry Contests.

The Evening of Women's Poetry will feature Southern Colorado's own poets reading from their work, including winners of this year's contests and invited poets represented in the newly published Road Trance, Volume 9 of the Southern Colorado Women's Poetry Series. The book, which features winning poems from the college and open divisions of the women's poetry contests from 2004 through 2008, will be for sale at the event.

All interested women and girls are invited to bring one or more poems to read at an open reading following the invited reading.

The evening is sponsored by CSU-Pueblo's Women's Studies Program, University Library, and English Department, celebrating Women's History Month.
