Colorado State University - Pueblo car show honors memory of faculty member Sefcovic


Students in the Automotive Industry Management (AIM) program at Colorado State University-Pueblo will honor the memory of former faculty member through hosting of the Paul Sefcovic Memorial Auto Show on April 11.

This fund raising event, which will include a car show, car bash, and t-shirt and concession sales, is being organized by the students of the AIM 425- Financial Management class to raise funds for equipment upgrades, hand tools, and vehicle maintenance. The event will be located in the campus parking lot east of the Technology Building from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Paul Sefcovic Memorial Auto Show
Paul Sefcovic died Aug. 13, 2008 and had been a passionate and enthusiastic mentor for his students since joining the AIM faculty in 1987.
All years, makes, and models are welcome at a pre-registration cost of $15 before April 1. All pre-registrants receive a complimentary t-shirt. Additional vehicles may be entered at $10 per vehicle. Registration the day of the show is $20. Participants may enter two categories per vehicle. A variety of judging categories and prizes will be awarded, including Best custom car, Best classic car, Best import car, Best 4x4/truck/SUV, Best bike, Best low-rider, Best sound system, Best interior, Best engine bay.
Open registration will be held from 8-9 a.m. The car show will open to the public at no charge from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Judging of cars will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. with prizes awarded at 3 p.m. Make checks payable to AIM @ CSU-Pueblo and note Car Show. Car Bash
Participants can pay for the thrill of bashing a car at $1.00 for 30 seconds, $2.00 for one minute, and $3.00 for two minutes. An auction to the highest bidder will be held for the opportunity to break the front windshield and rear glass. The cars will be donated by the AIM program and will have all fluids drained and disposed of prior to the event. Participants in this event will be required to sign a release of liability waiver prior to participation and will be required to wear safety gloves and safety glasses.
