Joe Blake, Chancellor-Elect of the Colorado State University System and current President and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, will visit the CSU-Pueblo campus on Monday, May 18.
This will be his first visit to meet with members of the CSU-Pueblo campus and Pueblo communities in his new role. A reception for Chancellor Blake will be held from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Monday in the WolfPack Room, second floor of Massari Arena. Refreshments will be served.
Following the recommendation of its chancellor search committee, the CSU System Board of Governors voted May 5 to accept Blake, vice-chair of the board, as the sole finalist for the system's next chancellor. The board must wait a period of two weeks before it can hire Blake, as state law requires his name remain public for that period of time.
Blake has served as president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce since 1999. His career has been focused on statewide leadership and stewardship of Colorado’s economy, competitiveness and business climate. He is a board member of The Denver Foundation, Denver Public Schools Foundation, the Metro Denver Sports Commission, Porter Hospital Foundation, Denver Police Foundation, and the Executive Committee of Colorado Concern (Past Chair). In recent years, Blake has chaired the Colorado Transportation Commission and the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
