Rocky Ford Grads eligible for new CSU–Pueblo Scholarship

A Rocky Ford native is giving back to her community and honoring her mother through a new scholarship at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Rocky Ford native Georgene Wright Nazarenus credits her mother, Viola Wright Stalzle, for her decision to attend college.  Georgene earned a business administration degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.  To remember her mother’s legacy, she has established an annual $5,000 per year scholarship that will be awarded to an incoming freshmen at CSU-Pueblo who graduated from Rocky Ford High School.

According to the scholarship agreement, the scholarship recipient should be goal- and career-oriented and seeking a professional career after gaining their college degree(s).  Candidates must be graduates of Rocky Ford High School (Rocky Ford, CO) who will be enrolled full-time and on-target to graduate within four (4) years (minimum of 15 credit hours per semester unless the student also enrolls in summer school).
