Colorado State University - Pueblo appoints interim dean for Hasan School of Business
PUEBLO – Colorado State University-Pueblo Interim President Dr. Julio Leon today announced the appointment Dr. Sue Hanks as interim dean of the Hasan School of Business (HSB).
Based on strong recommendation from the HSB faculty, Leon appointed Hanks as interim dean of HSB, effective Dec. 20. Leon noted that Hanks served as interim dean previously so already has earned the confidence of the faculty and the provost. She will lead the School until a permanent dean is appointed.
A national search for the permanent dean will be initiated in the Fall of 2011, with preparations for the search to begin during the Spring semester.
Hanks joined the CSU-Pueblo family in June of 1992 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Business Administration. The University honored her with the Award for Faculty Excellence in Mentoring/Advising in 2005. Her service to the School of Business has included faculty chair, 2005-present, interim dean, 2006, and chair of management and marketing, 2003-2005. She earned a doctoral degree in vocational education with an emphasis in business education from the University of Arkansas.
“The Hasan School of Business is a significant asset to CSU-Pueblo, and I am confident that Dr. Hanks will successfully lead the school until a new dean is selected to lead the school into the future,” Leon said.
The Hasan School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which ranks HSB among the top 15 percent of schools internationally. HSB is the premier provider of business education in southern Colorado and serves as a major resource for both the University and the region.
