Two student organizations at Colorado State University-Pueblo hope to benefit children in the community through separate book, toy, and clothing drives throughout the month of November to benefit the Child Advocacy Center and the YWCA.
Members of the President’s Leadership Program will accept new or used books and toys in good condition from Oct. 15-Nov. 29. Contributions may be placed in boxes located in four sites across campus: University Library, PLP Office ( Library Wing 221), CSU-Pueblo Bookstore in the Occhiato University Center, and the Circulation Desk in the Belmont Residence hall. The donated items will be presented the pueblo Child Advocacy Center on Dec. 1. More information on the PLP drive is available by e-mailing Steve Trujillo at email@example.com
Members of the Family Violence 407 class are participating in a service learning project to raise awareness of domestic violence through an on-campus clothing, stuffed animal, and children’s book drive from Oct. 22 through Nov. 16. All proceeds from this drive will benefit the Pueblo YWCA and the Pueblo Child Advocacy Center. Boxes also are available throughout campus buildings.
