Colorado State University-Pueblo announces the hiring of Rhonda Park Uber, Nicky Damania, and Jack Krider to lead significant student life and development components on campus.
Rhonda Park Uber will begin duties as Director of the Belmont Residence Hall beginning
June 2. She is responsible for the entire Residence Life operations for the university, which this year will serve more than 600 students. Rhonda Uber will organize and ensure an excellent living-learning educational and community building program and offer services that promote learning and development in the broadest sense, with an emphasis on student experiences and academic success. Uber holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Utah and a master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Southern Illinois University. She has served both as Associate Director of Residence Life (2002-2007) and Associate Director of Housing Administration (2007-present) at Eastern Kentucky University. She also spent two years as Assistant Director of Residence Life at Coastal Carolina University. She has held other residence life and student life positions at Florida Atlantic University, University of Utah, Macon State College, Wesleyan College (Macon, Ga.), and North Carolina Wesleyan College. She recently served as the Kentucky State Representative on the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers.
Nicky Damania has accepted the Director of Student Activities position on a permanent basis. He has served as interim director of Student Activities since January 2008. As the permanent director of Student Activities, Nicky will be responsible for developing a comprehensive student engagement program intended to enrich the campus experience of university students that result in broad organizational and involvement opportunities and enhance the overall educational experiences for students. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and drama from Colorado College and a master’s degree in career and technology education from Bowling Green State University. He has student life experience in the Office of Greek Affairs at Bowling Green and in residence life at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Colorado College, and Columbia College.
Beginning June 3, Jack Krider will be responsible for providing vision and leadership to develop and manage a comprehensive recreation program as well as manage and operate the University’s new 50,000-square-foot student-funded Student Recreation Center, which is scheduled to open in late August. Krider brings 13 years of campus recreation experience to the University from Durango, where he has served as Director of Recreational Services at Fort Lewis College since 2000. During his tenure, he served on a building design team and opened two new recreation facilities. From 1995-2000, he managed a comprehensive intramural and club
sports program as assistant director of campus recreation at FLC. He earned both master’s (sports management) and bachelor’s degrees (recreation) from the University of Northern Colorado. He is a member of the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association and served as the State Director during the 1998-99 year.
