What is DARS?

DARS is an acronym for Degree Audit Reporting System.  DARS has two components, the degree audit and transfer evaluation.  The degree audit is an automated process for tracking a student’s academic progress toward completing an academic program.  The transfer evaluation reports the courses completed at another institution and indicates their transferability. 

 What are the advantages of using DARS?

  • DARS is an advising tool that enables students and advisors to track progress toward meeting graduation requirements more accurately, more efficiently, and on an ongoing basis from the beginning of their studies. 
  • DARS reduces the manual processing required for checking degree progress.  In turn, DARS facilitates advising by allowing less time to be spent reviewing past coursework, and more time helping students plan for the future.
  • After providing an immediate analysis of progress towards degree completion, DARS summarizes the courses from which a student should choose to complete degree requirements.  Consequently, DARS ensures that students stay on track and do not take unnecessary courses.
  • DARS shows how a student’s official transfer coursework will apply towards his/her degree.
  • If a student is considering changing majors, a “What-if” DARS degree audit can be produced that shows how his/her completed coursework would apply toward another major.

How do I get a DARS degree audit?

Students assigned to catalog year 2008-2009 and forward can run their own audits via the
T-WOLF Student Portal by logging into PAWS Services. 

Students assigned to catalogs 2006-07 and 2007-08 can obtain an audit from their department.
